In Tonder

After a relatively easy morning's journey, I arrived in Tonder, in southern Denmark, close to the German border.  Its population is about 7000, is known for its hand crafts, and as being the home of one of the Danish princes.  My mother's father's line, the Dietz's, came from here.  At least we can trace the name back to about 1700.  It is a peaceful farming town.  Very quiet.

I'm staying with a family I met via couchsurfing, and again, I'm really impressed the lives people put together in remote places like this.  I feel like I'm learning something, I just can't quiet put my finger on it yet...

This street was walked by Dietz's:

And here is where they were legally sanctioned to spawn the rest of us:

Very quiet, almost empty, on a Sunday afternoon-
